How do I get it?
- You need to belong to Multiply and Pick n Pay Smart Shopper to qualify, and
- You need to activate the benefit to earn HealthReturns. There are two types of activations.
Activate your in-store benefit:
This is the process you need to follow to earn HealthReturns when you shop at physical Pick n Pay stores:
- Log in to the Multiply app and enter your Smart Shopper card number under Cards before you start shopping, or
- To get HealthReturns, swipe your Smart Shopper card before you pay for your goods.
To activate your online shopping benefit:
This is the process you need to follow to earn HealthReturns when you shop online at pnp.co.za:
- Go to pnp.co.za.
- Create a profile by following the steps to sign up or log in to your existing Pick n Pay profile.
- Once logged in, navigate to My Dashboard → Edit Profile → Third-Party Loyalty.
- Enter your Multiply client number and click on Save. Your card number will be validated.
- You will then need to log out, close the session and wait 24 hours for the benefit to be activated. When you log in again after 24 hours, your Multiply Pick n Pay online shopping benefit will be activated.
- You will automatically earn HealthReturns when you shop online.
- For picknpayclothing.co.za transactions, use the same login credentials used for pnp.co.za. Your profile is linked, and you’ll automatically earn HealthReturns if your Smart Shopper card was previously linked.
To earn HealthReturns when shopping on the Pick n Pay asap! app:
Make sure your Pick n Pay benefit has been activated (see steps above).
- Download the Pick n Pay asap! app.
- New user - at registration, add your Smart Shopper number to the relevant field. Once applied, you'll earn Smart Shopper points and HealthReturns.
- Existing user - link your Smart Shopper card at checkout.

Using the benefit:
- To get HealthReturns, ask the cashier to swipe your Smart Shopper card before you pay.
- If you’re shopping on picknpayclothing.co.za or pnp.co.za, you’ll receive your HealthReturns automatically once you have linked your Smart Shopper card on these channels. Use the credentials you used to link your card to log in.
- New asap! app users: At registration, add your Smart Shopper number to the relevant field. Once applied, you'll earn Smart Shopper points and HealthReturns. Existing asap! app users: link your Smart Shopper card at checkout.
- Multiply Inspire/Plus members: If you’re a Momentum Medical Scheme member, your HealthReturns will be paid into your HealthSaver account within 24 hours.
- Multiply Engage/Plus members: Your HealthReturns will be paid into your Multiply wallet within 48 hours.
- The maximum monthly spend limit for combined grocery partners’ vouchers is R1 000 for principal members, R500 for a registered partner and each adult dependant, and R250 for each registered child dependant.
- This benefit is available to main members and partners on a Multiply contract.
- HealthReturns will be awarded on qualifying products based on your Multiply status or rewards level.
- HealthReturns will only be awarded if you swipe the registered Smart Shopper card that is both linked to your ID with Pick n Pay and activated on your Multiply profile.
- Multiply reserves the right at any time to exempt certain products from earning HealthReturns at its discretion.
- At Pick n Pay, items excluded from earning HealthReturns from Multiply include, but are not limited to, as prohibited by legislation:
- fuel
- tobacco and tobacco-related products
- Pick n Pay gift cards and top-ups
- wallet top-up
- money transfers
- prescription medicine and pharmaceutical goods
- baby or nutritional formula
- third party services and payments, which include, but are not limited to, electricity, USA Visa tokens, Axxess ADSL tokens, Hollard Insurance, U-Kash, SAA Cycle voucher, Austrian Visa tokens, Just Surf, Retail Bonds, all lottery tickets, transactions through SAA, bus tickets, MultiChoice, traffic fines, Splashout Mall Cards and pension payments.
